Sunday curfew evokes good response in Hubballi city

Hubballi: The first ‘Sunday curfew’ imposed by the Dharwad Deputy Commissioner Deepa Cholan to contain the spread of COVID-19 evoked good response in Hubballi.

All business houses and most travel services, except emergency services, were closed in the city. Necessary services like drug stores, hospitals, dairy products and meat stalls were open. Public transport service was stalled in the city and barricades were put up outside the bus stand.

The police have taken necessary measures for security in the city for the curfew from 7 pm on Saturday till 7 am on Monday. They also dealt with people who came out on the streets under the pretext of using the necessary services and sent such people home.

The police officials stood guard at the primary circles and inspected the vehicles on the streets and registered cases against people who had been driving except to get access to the necessary facilities.
