HUBBALLI: A day after rape of a minor reported on the outskirts of Hubballi, the police have now revealed how they were able to arrest the accused.
According to a TNIE report, an investigation officer said ” After the rape, Rajkiran, the main accused, asked his friends to get his two-wheeler and rode away. When they were going, the victim noticed a radium sticker of horse on the bike’s hood.
“We immediately alerted all police stations and check posts to look for that particular bike. The bike was of 200CC. One such bike was picked up from Gangadhar Nagar and its owner was called to the police station.”
As soon as the owner, Rajkiran, entered the police station, the victim identified her rapist,” the officer said.
The police arrested four persons on Sunday night on charges of raping a 15-year-old girl near Bidnal village. They have booked Rajkiran Gokak (28), Abhishek Ballari (23), Rahul Jadhav (33) and Kanayya Korwar (24), all residents of Settlement Shantiniketan Colony and Veerapur Oni in Hubballi, under POCSO Act.
On January 9, they saw a couple chatting under a tree near Bidnal. Rajkiran, the main accused, took the girl away and reportedly raped her. The other three beat the boy who was with the girl.
