With 2 cases in Dharwad, Karnataka reports over 100 cases of Covid-19 in a day for the third time


Karnataka reported as many as 138 cases of Covid-19 on Friday, May 22, 2020, only the third time that more than 100 cases were recorded in a day.

Chikkaballapur reported 47 cases, followed by Hassan (14), Raichur (10), Bidar (9), Mandya, Tumakuru (8 each), Vijayapura (7), Bengaluru Urban, Bengaluru Rural, Chikkamagaluru (5 each), Davangere, Udupi, Haveri (3 each), Dharwad, Shivamogga, Yadgir (2 each) and Belagavi, Bagalkot, Uttara Kannada, Dakshina Kannada and Chitradurga (one each), according to the evening media bulletin released by the Department of Health and Family Welfare.

As many as 111 patients have a travel history to Maharashtra, the worst affected state in India. Two patients each have a travel history to Telangana and Delhi while one patient had been to Jharkhand. The contacts of three patients are still being traced.
