Hubballi-Dharwad Police Commissioner, DCP Transferred After Public Spat

HUBBALLI: Hubballi-Dharwad Police Commissioner R Dileep and Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) P Krishnakant, who were publicly involved in a spat, have been transferred with immediate effect.

In a notification on Tuesday, October 20, 2020, Nagappa S Pareet, Under Secretary to Government, Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms (Services-4), announced the transfer of both the officers.

Dileep has been posted as deputy inspector general of police, Economic Offences Wing, Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Bengaluru.

Krishanakat has been posted as the superintendent of police, Dharwad, in place of Vartika Katiyar, who has been transferred.

Dileep and Krishnakant had a public spat recently. Krishnakant had claimed that the police commissioner had refused to meet him or take his phone calls. In response, the police chief issued him a notice, denying that he had refused to meet him and asking him to explain the public outburst.

Industries minister Jagadish Shettar had expressed displeasure at the two officers squabbling. Since then, it was speculated that the they would be transferred.
