HUBBALLI: The Hubballi airport is set to get back to the aviation map after over a month.
Indigo will resume the Bengaluru flight on July 13 and the flight to Kannur (Kerala) on July 14. The Hubballi airport is the third busiest in Karnataka, after Bengaluru and Mangaluru, and served nearly five lakh passengers in the 2018-2019 financial year.
Before the Covid lockdown disrupted the air travel, Hubballi had flights to Bengaluru, Chennai, Kochi, Kannur, Tirupati, Hyderabad, Goa, Mumbai, Ahmedabad and Hindon (Delhi). Indigo, Air India and Star Air were serving the airport.
Bengaluru was the top destination with about four flights a day. Indigo had also announced launching a flight to Mumbai and Mangaluru on March 29 but the lockdown disrupted everything.
But now that the restrictions are being eased, airlines are slowly resuming the flights.
Here’s the schedule of the new Indigo flights:
1) Bengaluru-Hubballi: 7.30 am departure; 8.55 am arrival. The fare starts at Rs 2,494.
Hubballi-Bengaluru: 9.25 am departure; 10.35 am arrival. The fare starts at Rs 2,368.
The Bengaluru flight will run four days a week: Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Hubballi-Kannur: 2.30 pm departure; 3.45 pm arrival. The fare starts at Rs 2,390.
The Kannur flight will run three days a week: Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
The airline will use 72-seater ATR aircraft for both the flights.
