DHARWAD: Migrant labourers, students, pilgrims or tourists, who are stranded due to lockdown, can return to their home states now. The Dharwad district administration has taken up certain measures to send such people home during lockdown.
Registration process for those who want to move to their home states has begun. Such stranded people are advised to immediately register their names and details by contacting helpline and WhatsApp numbers or by directly visiting the nearest Gram Panchayat, Tehsildar Office, Police Station, Municipal Zonal Offices or Urban Local Bodies, Dharwad Deputy Commissioner Deepa Cholan advised.
Those who want to go home must register to mention their destination by contacting the DC office helpline number 1077 or through WhatsApp numbers 9449847646/9449847641.
The district administration will arrange vehicles for those who want to travel to other states, and the traveler must bear the expenses. If there are fewer passengers, they will be allowed to travel in a separate car or mini vehicles.
Migrant workers, students, and tourists or pilgrims, from outside the states, who are residing in different places in Dharwad district, have to immediately register their information and the relevant states will be informed about the matter, the district officials said.
