Eatery Owner Pushed On Hot Oil In Attack, Hospitalised

DHARWAD: A man, who was running a roadside eatery for 20 years in Navalgund in the district, was attacked and hospitalised after he was pushed on hot oil.

Shaukat Ali Abdulgani Engineer had been running a stall preparing fried eatables near the Kannada school here and was injured on his stomach and chest in the attack. According to locals, Riyaz Kalegar, who had been selling vegetables for many years, decided to start his own stall of fried eatables. Since Shaukat Ali objected, Riyaz is said to have fought and pushed him on the hot oil, severely injuring him.

Shaukat Ali was immediately admitted to the hospital. The police have booked cases against three people and are investigating the matter.
