HUBBALLI: Deputy Commissioner Deepa Cholan has declared a curfew in Dharwad district from 7 pm on Saturday (May 24) to 7 am on Monday (May 25) as a precautionary measure against the spread of the novel coronavirus.
The curfew has been declared under section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) and on the orders of Karnataka Chief Secretary T M Vijay Bhaskar, the deputy commissioner stated in an order on Friday, May 22.
All gatherings such as conferences, public conventions, sports meets and religious events have been banned during the curfew period.
Here’s the complete list of what’s allowed and what’s not:
1) All gatherings or processions of more than five people.
2) People should not step out of their homes except for essential needs.
3) There should not be more than 50 guests at weddings.
4) Not more than 20 people should attend funerals.
The above rules will not apply to government vehicles as well as staff and vehicles engaged in works related to Covid-19. Violators will face strict action, the deputy commissioner warned.
