Bengaluru: Deputy Chief Minister Ashwath Narayana C N has said that classes for undergraduate courses for the new academic year will commence on October 1.
The online classes for the courses will, however, begin in September itself, said Ashwath Narayan, who is also Minister for Higher Education, on Wednesday.
The Department of Education awaits orders from the Central government on conducting classes offline and some of the exams for graduation in September. The final year examinations for all undergraduate, diploma and engineering courses will be conducted in the new academic year. The backlog examinations too will be conducted, said the deputy chief minister.
Students will be required to attend the classes from October, and the Department is preparing to ensure the protocols and guidelines for safety are followed while conducting the classes.
