Karnataka reported a record-breaking 2,323 cases of Covid-19 between 5 pm, July 9, and 5 pm, July 10.
The state tested 19,228 samples during the 24-hour period, of which 16,473 samples tested negative. With 2,323 new cases, Karnataka has seen 33,418 cases of Covid-19 to date. The total fatalities stand at 543 after 57 new deaths.
A total of 472 patients are serious as they remain in the ICU.
Bengaluru Urban continues to top the list of the worst affected districts with a record 1,447 new cases during the 24-hour period.
The other top districts are: Dakshina Kannada (139), Vijayapura (89), Ballari (66), Kalaburagi (58), Yadgir, Mysuru (51 each), Dharwad (50), Haveri (42), Udupi (34), Uttara Kannada, Kodagu (33 each), Mandya (31), Raichur (25), Ramanagara (23), Davangere (21), Bidar, Gadag (19 each), Belagavi (15), Chikkaballapur (12), Tumakuru (10), Kolar, Chamarajanagar (9 each), Koppal (7), Hassan, Shivamogga, Bagalkot (6 each), Bengaluru Rural and Chikkamagaluru (1 each).
There was no case in Chitradurga.
On the positive side, a record 1,003 patients were discharged during the said 24-hour period, including 601 discharges in the Bengaluru Urban district and 13 in the Dharwad district.
