Ambulance Driver, Courier ‘Rob Man Of Cash, Phone On Neeligin Road’

HUBBALLI: Suburban police arrested an ambulance driver and a delivery boy on Tuesday for robbing a man of cash and mobile phone on  Neeligen Road in the heart of Hubballi.

Ambulance driver Shriram alias Umesh Hosamani (20), of Deshpande Nagar, and Nagaraj alias Rao Ganguji Shinde (27), a parcel delivery boy from Nagashettykoppa Dodda Oni in Keshwapur, are the arrested men.

On Monday night, a man riding alone on his two-wheeler on Neeligin Road was stopped by the duo. They hit him on the back of the head and the face before robbing him of cash and phone.

The suburban police later arrested the duo. They also seized an unregistered two-wheeler used in the crime, the stolen cash and mobile phone from the arrested men.

Suburban police have registered a case. Station inspector S K Holennavar, assistant sub-inspector V S Raipur, Mallikarjun Dhanigonda, Manjunath Yakkadi, C F Konisagar, B I Angadi, Umesh Hedderi, Mabusab Mulla and Manju Kamatada were in the investigation team.
