Akanksha Singh Misses Rank 1 to Soyeb Depsite Scoring 100 Percent Marks: Here’s Why

Delhi’s Akanksha Singh secured All India Rank 2 even after scoring perfect 720 marks in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET 2020) on October 16, while Soyeb Aftab of Odisha’s, who also scored the same marks, clinched rank 1.

According to reports, the ranking was announced based on NEET’s tie-breaker policy where the candidate older in age will be given preference over the younger one.

According to officials, the tie-breaking policy takes into account factors such as age, subject-wise marks and number of incorrect answers. The same tie-breaking policy has been used for deciding further ranks.
