At a time when common patients of Covid-19 are struggling to find beds in state-run hospitals, the Karnataka government has come up with luxurious facilities to treat elected representatives and bureaucrats should they get infected with the deadly disease.
On June 24, Chief Secretary T M Vijay Bhaskar ordered that one wing of the government-run Kumara Krupa Guest House with 100 rooms of individual occupancy be reserved as Covid care centres for ministers, MPs, MLAs, MLCs and senior officers of the rank of secretary and above.
Kumara Krupa Guest House is located in central Bengaluru and is known for its VIP amenities.
That’s not all. The chief secretary also ordered the guest house management to limit the bookings in the remaining rooms to a maximum of 33% for the foreseeable future.
